Viktor is also the author of Technology and the Environment in State-Socialist Hungary (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017).

 Ferenc Jankó is an associate professor at the Department of Social and Economic Geography at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, and at the Institute of Ecological Economics of the University of Sopron. His research interests include historical environmental controversies, climate skepticism, climate change adaptation, and communication. He also studies the history of geographical knowledge making in Burgenland, Austria. He recently authored a book entitled From Borderland to Burgenland. Science, Geopolitics, Identity and the Making of a Region.

Csaba Lakócai is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies, Institute of World Economics in Budapest, Hungary. He has experience in quantitative social science methodologies. His research interest focuses on the controversies of development, sustainability, and social wellbeing, including economic, sociological, environmental, cultural, geographic, and historical implications, with a particular focus on socialist and postsocialist Europe from the mid-20th century to the present day.

An Environmental History of Transboundary Rivers in Cold War East-Central Europe

This project focuses on the environmental history of transboundary river basins in socialist East-Central Europe. This project centers on transboundary river issues in Czechoslovakia, specifically focusing on the Oder River (shared with Poland) and the Danube (shared with Hungary), and it includes an analysis of both politico-scientific and popular discourses.
